"This is simply the best pack I've ever owned. It weighs a scant 2lbs., 10 oz, and is 3500 c.i., and has great suport. The shoulder pads are wide and never felt like they would slip and the hip belt was equaly as good. A simple pack with great quality and a steal at $90."

"I used this pack for the last 1200 miles of my AT thru-hike. Its an awesome pack for light to medium weight loads. As the load approaches 45 lbs, it gets uncomfortable. If you can keep the weight down, its a great pack for a great price."

"I bought this pack for $49.99 (at Campmor). I was entirely happy with the performance. It carried 30lbs with ease, was comfortable and has a wide range of adjustment. Doesn't vent on the back to well, but for $49.99 want do you want?"

"I love this pack! Took it through the 100-mile "wilderness" and lots of 2-4 day sections of the AT over the past 4 years, carrying about 35 pounds fully loaded. It holds a surprising amount of bulky stuff, divided between the interior hold and the rear "shovel" pocket. The main drawback... they don't make it any more! Arrgh! Mine is just about worn out. Now and then one turns up on ebay."

"Great News! While the Gale was discontinued, it was reinvented as the Storm 3500. Same pack, only they went from 18 to 21 inches on the torso, and added daisy chains. As mine was just a bit short, I'm looking forward to purchasing one of the new ones."
