"I know a lot of people may disagree but I think the Peak-1 Micro stove is a terrific appliance. It is a prop/but stove that uses fuel canisters. Simply screw the stove onto the top of the fuel canister and fire it up...instant heat. Simmers very well. Has virtually no parts to break. Needs virtually no maintainance. Weighs almost nothing (stove only is 3-4 oz). Is it perfect?...no. But none are. Since the stove sits ontop of the fuel bottle you have to be careful of tipping. The cooking surface is a little small but that makes it very compact. How well it will do at extremely high alt or low temps I cannot say. But for those of us who aren't mountain climbers it will do well at reasonable altitudes and during 3-season camping. For those looking for a worry-free, fast-assembling, inexpensive ($25), lite-weight stove, this is a great option. One minor drawback is that it doesn't come with windscreen. But these are available separately or you can make one from lite-weight aluminum flashing."

"I think this is a good light weight stove. It can fit almost anywhere. The only thing is that you have to carry fuel cans, but the best for me was the size of everything."

"I've been using peak 1 micro stove for two years now.I really like this stove.I was using a whisperlite international before that. The WI is ok if you need a blow torch.I was constantly adjusting the flame. To each his own."

"This stove is so sweet...I've used it everywhere and it has given me no problems, its lite enough to carry two for easier cooking! The canisters are lite too, just be careful when cooking to make sure your on a stable level surface. By far the best stove I've ever owned for the money...$23!!! cheap"

"I have used this stove for nearly 5 years and totally trouble free. I have used it in temps as low as 30F with no problems. This is a very efficient, hot, reliable stove. Compact, light and an incredible value at only $24.00. I don't think this stove is made any more.
As for winter use, I still carry my Whisperlite, though I think you could stretch this stove into sub freezing temps if you are careful to keep the canister warm. Excellent performance, I rate the micro a 4.0."

"This is a great, light weight and inexpensive stove. Fuel comes in two different sized cannisters, so you don't have to carry too much. It is more stable with the big fuel can. The stove is hot very and adjustable. It is a little balky when freezing and you need to keep the fuel warm. A great buy if you can find one."

"this is a great little stove, i have used it at 9000+ in elevation and works just fine, i have also used it at temps below 15 degrees, and have set the fuel canister in snow and it still lights up, its a great stove for really cheap"
