"My partner and I used this stove on our '98 PCT thru-hike with excellent results. We only cooked dinners, but could go 10 days on one large cylinder of fuel. One nice thing about the fuel cylinders for this stove is that they weigh only 2 oz. empty and they're recyclable aluminum. The pot stand is very grippy and stable, though we added a piece of small diameter shock-cord to keep the legs from folding up during cooking. I would also recommend prying the plastic valve knob off and replacing it with a small hose clamp around the valve stem. The knob on our stove stripped quite easily. Finally, if you have one of the first models that came out, without the reinforcing where the hose meets the valve, send it back. The first one we had quickly developed a leak at this very vulnerable point and burst into flames."

"I've used this stove for a 7-day hike on N. Manitou and then a 10-day on Isle Royale with excellent results. Another, more expensive stove in our group wouldn't start in cold weather but this one worked like a charm; especially in extreme rain and windy conditions there were no problems - and we didn't need a wind screen, either. Not the lightest or most compact, but the fuel goes a long way and the cannisters are recyclable."

"I've used this stove since it first came out and think it superb! I've used it when it's been -11F. Just turned it on..no priming necessary. It fired up equally well at 11,000 feet. I have had one canister failure so try them before I commit them to a trip. Like most stoves a wind-screen improves it's effectiveness. I have a few items that use Powermax canisters. I recommend this stove to people who like to just plug 'er in and cook."
