"I bought this tent to provide for shelter on backpacking trips and scout campouts. I looked at several options including hammocks and other solo shelters. The lightyear won out based on these consdierations. Weight. I was looking to shave whatever weight I could. This tent is lightweight. Space. I don't carrry a lot of gera into the tent with me. The spaces in this tent not taken up by me were perfect for other clothes (can be used for support under you sleeping pad or for additional insulation) or for anyhting I really did not want to get wet. Durability. So far, I dont see any really big issues here. I love Sierra Designs products and this is my third SD tent. It is light weight though, so I take care in zipping zippers or pulling on things. You always sacrifice beefiness for lightweight.
I have used it at 30 degrees and had no condensation problems. The circulation was sufficient to keep this problem under control.
This tent is what it is. A lght weight shelter for one. The vestibule is so small that only shoes or a tiny pack will go there.
I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking a light, stable and easy to pitch tent for one."

"I have owned this tent for 2 years, and have used it on trips in Colorado and Utah, including warm nights in the desert and above treeline at 12,000'.

Advantages:
-Light (mid-range for solo tents)
-Quick, simple setup.
-I am 6'3", and don't feel too confined. I can change clothes with some effort.
-While the space inside the fly is not as roomy as some, I can keep my pack there.

Disadvantages:
-You have to learn how to place the stakes for the fly so it doesn't flap in the wind.
-A little heavier than some."
