"I bought a Eureka Backcountry 4 tent and absolutely love it. It measures 7.5x7.5 and weighs a shade under 7 lbs. It is perfect for if you are traveling with another person and a couple of dogs as I usually do. Last week we were caught in a torrential 8 hour downpour in the Adirondacks and the tent kept us completely dry. It's easy to set up and dries quickly. It's the perfect 3 season tent!"

"Since I bought Eureka Backcountry4 4 years ago, I have always loved this tent. (For some reason, I think it was Backcountry3, not Backcountry4...)
Eureka Backcountry 3-season, 2-pole dome tents offer solid comfort in sturdy shelters. Not only it's roomy but also it's amazingly strong. I was so proud of it when it successfully went through the extreme windy condition without falling over or being blown away on one of my backpacking trips. The shock-corded 7000 series aluminum frame used in this tent IS the way to go; no fiberglass frame can beat it! I love the low-impact color, too. It looks nice and fits into the nature so well. Lightweight is another good thing about this tent. If you were going backpacking with 2 up to 4 people, you'd love it. As for myself, I like this tent so much that I am considering getting Backcountry1 or 2 for the solo trips."

"My husband and I began our backpacking hobby with this tent. We were so pleased with it, we have recommended it to all other backpacking friends we have developed over the years. It is perfect for my hubby and I, plus both our packs and all our gear (minus our food, of course!) A recent trip with friends during an extremely windy day proved our tent to be the only one remaining. The weight (just under 7 lbs) is incredible for this size tent. An absolute bargain for such an extremely high quality product. Highly recommended."

"I've had this tent since August 1995 and it's still going strong 8 years later, having been all across the U.S. from the Carolinas to Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Africa and more, up mountains and down the Grand Canyon. Very durable, easy to assemble, stays dry, roomy and not too heavy. It's also nice to stargaze, since the roof is see-through if you don't use the overroof. It fits 3-4 people."

"If you want a lot of square footage AND a light tent (very hard to find) it doesn’t get much better than the Backcountry 4. Yes, you can find the same amount of space, center height, light weight, and quality construction of the Backcountry Four in competing products, but at anywhere near the low price. It has proven to have sufficient room for my wife, our two (large) dogs, and me. I can literally set this tent up with my eyes closed, in less than 3 minutes. We like this tent so much, we have purchased 2 more. Now we have three of these awesome tents. I cannot say enough good things about the Backcountry 4."

"More than happy with this tent. I originally bought it in 1995 as a possible backpacking tent for the family (two adults/2 kids) - however we've used it primarily as a car camping tent. Never been disappointed. Keeps rain out, despite not having a full fly; very durable considering the weight; easy to set up; plenty of room. The downside is no vestibule for the gear - but if using this for only 3 or 2, then there's plenty of room inside. Great price, even better value."

"Like the other reviewers, I have had the tent since the mid 1990's. I bought it as a shared backpacking tent, use it both for backpacking and car camping. Like the other reviewers, it's both lightweight and a bargain-and easy to set up, even in the dark! It doesn't like wind, but if you don't point the open ends into the wind it is fine. A bit heavy for a solo backpack, however!"

"I purchased this tent in '96 when I was camping avidly in the lower appalachians. It withstood several years of drunken college party-camping that I did nearly every other weekend. >>>Fast forward to 2005. I now live on the Gulf Coast. Some friends of mine were going camping on Perdido Beach a few weeks ago and invited me along. I dug out my old tent, resealed the seams and set it up about 40 feet from the high tide line. We were having a great time, but nobody checked the weather. Around 3 AM I noticed an unusually large mass of clouds approaching in the distance. We decieded to rest and soon retired to our tents. Tropical Storm Cindy was soon unleashing her fury. I woke maybe 4 hours later to the stench of cigarettes and Cheez-its. My girlfried was complaining that she couldn't sleep with all the rain. I poked my head out of the tent to check on my friends. One of their tents was flattened down against them by the TS force winds, and the other had been ripped literally into shreds. My girlfriend and I were at least 90% dry. I noticed a little leakage in the corners where the tie points had stretched the seam holes due to the extreme winds. Also the rain fly was flying up as the south wind was blowing directly under it, and it was loosening the tent from its stakes; but they were poorly secured in loose beach sand. We waited for the rain to give, and then quickly evacuated. My friend with the shredded tent simply let his blow away.
I feel that overall this is the best tent I have ever owned. I paid $210.00 for it in '96, and have probably used it over 100 times. That's like $2.10 a night. Now that's CHEAP!!!"

"I bought this tent when my son was 1. His mother threw a fit and told me I wasted my money. My son is now 11. He and I have spent the years camping in Wi,Il,Mi,Ky,Mo,Ga,Fl,Ak and even the badlands in SD. This August, We will take our first multiday backpacing trip in upper Mi. and I have very little doubt the Eureka Backcountry 4 will perform flawless. To me it seems the tent was certainly not a waste."
