Hank Manz, 10/20/05 User Rating:
"This isn't an ultralight tent, but for $50 it is a low cost way to be very dry and very bugproof without lugging along a full blown tent. It sets up in a couple of minutes and requires only two stakes although in very wet weather you will want a few more. There is over 9' of length although there is no vestibule and only 23" of headroom. Two years ago I spent three days camping out at a Boy Scout event where it rained hard almost constantly and where there was standing water everywhere. The tent never leaked anywhere. Headroom is limited, you will have to make your own footprint, and you don't want a high-loft sleeping bag because it will completely fill the tent. Getting in and out of such a low tent can be tricky in a downpour. In fact, just getting dressed in this tent can be very tricky. Weight is about 3.5 lbs and it comes with a repair kit, pole bag, and stake bag. This tent is the first one I reach for when I am hitting the trail for a couple of days and it was my choice for a 10 day canoe trip in Canada. The tent is well made and nothing has been left out except the footprint which is why I rate it a 4 and not a 5."
