"It's a reliable, simple, and hot stove. From cook to simmer with ease.
I've yet to lose the flame in high wind but a home-made windscreen helps."

"I bought 2 of these stoves for Boy Scouts to take to Isle Royale National Park on a 1 week trip. Every time we stopped the troop would break out 4 stoves - 1 MSR white gas stove, 1 MSR kerosene stove, and the 2 Primus Yellowstones. The MSR gas stove never worked right; the kerosene stove took constant attention to keep hte pressure up; and as a result by the time those patrols got their water hot the patrols using the Primus stoves were done eating and were cleaning up. No joke - the simplicity of use and efficiency of these stoves were excellent. Not considering I bought them becasue they were the cheapest stove in the local backpaking store. Haven't tried the isobutane fuel mix in cold weather though - so the rating is less than a 5 for that reason only."
