"I paid $19.95 for may Trail Scout about 10 years ago. The price has not changed and the stove is still widely available. People laugh about the size and the weight of the propane canister. However, no one laughed on top of Mt. Whitney when I boiled water in half the time and went 3 days on the same cartridge. The stove and full propane cartridge weigh a total of 3 lbs. This is not much when you consider that it burns like a blow torch and lasts a good 3 or 4 hours on high. I've used the stove everywhere except day hikes and it has never let me down. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to figure out how I can spend more on gear than I have to."
