"I’ve had this pad for a couple of years now and find it to be a good leightweigh alternative to air mattress’. I have since gotten the UL air mattress and don’t use the Zrest as much but it is still a fine product. Site selection is critical when using this mat. If you sleep where there is a lot of leaves and duff on the ground you will be fine. If you are forced to sleep on bare, flat ground it won’t be as good. Being closed cell foam this pad insulates better then an air mattress but doesn’t have the cushioning of an air mattress. Being of an accordion design this pad carries better than the plain closed cell rolled mat. I find the best way to carry it is to unfold it one fold right in the middle and place it in my pack against the back panel of the pack. This gives extra protection from things poking me in the back. This pad is a great addition for winter hiking too. It gives that extra insulating barrier between you and the ground. I also found that the pad is a bit extra long and cut a couple panels off the end use them for a sitting pad that weighs only 2 oz. At $24 this pad is worth checking out."
