"Got it on sale, and have loved it ever since. I havent had a problem with overheating or being really cold in a fall camping trip in Maine. Great value, and compresses pretty nicely!"

"An excellent bag. I took it on an 11 day backpacking trip in New Mexico and it was awesome. It repelled any condensation or water so it could be wiped dry. Its size and weight are perfect for packpacking excursions."

"Tents and sleeping bags are the two things TNF still does well, and this bag is a good example. Its rated as a 3-season bag, but I've used it in mild southern California winter conditions with no problems; I beefed mine up by putting in a light 'collar' at the neckline, which noticably increases its warmth). Packs a little larger than a comparibly-rated down bag, but the synthetic insulation lessens (doesn't eliminate) dampness issues. Also easy to wash at home. Great all-around bag if you only want to own one sleeping bag. "

"I have used this bag solidly for almost 10 years in every climate you can find in the Southwest. From the Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon to 11,000 ft. peaks at Philmont. I have NEVER been cold. I have never been unhappy with this bag, period. I have been rained on, snowed on, hailed on, woken up floating and almost covered in snow. I have been blown around in 45 mph winds, and swarmed by mosquitoes and this bag has been superb through it all. The soft flannel like lining feels wonderful after a long day on the trail. It dries quickly in the morning and packs as small as a synthetic bag can get. The 15 degF rating will keep you warm through just about anything.
GREAT BAG! Truly a Classic!!!!"

"Best bag for the price...a classic! This is a good bag for sleeping underneath the stars, it can handle a bit of dew, and still retain its loft and warmth. Its incredibly durable, I've had one for years and it has taken many licks, but remains in near-perfect condition. I think its the perfect bag for a beginner, or somebody less concerned with pack-space, or possibly someone who takes less-than-perfect care of their gear."

"The perfect bag. It dries super-quick, compresses unbelievably, and even shines in the dark! The bag is quite durable and even has a little pillow pocket which seems to be a perfect place to store the fleece and rest the head.

"This bag is great. It compresses up small and lofts up nicely. It has a few new features (99 model). Its cut a bit tightly for clastifobic people, but hay for $150 bucks its a great buy."

"If God himself was a fellow backpacker, I'd bet money you'd
discover a TNF Cat's Meow sleeping bag in his pack. After four years of continous abuse and punishment inflicted apon my Cat's Meow by Mother Nature, I have concluded that this bag is the best, bar none. The engineers and designers at North Face must have bestowed all their magical abilities when creating this bag. The Polar Guard HV insulation powers this 15 degree bag, while the soft flannel-like Thermastat linning instantly warms any exhausted backpacker after a long day on the trail. God slept good while in his Cat's Meow. You will too."
Nick, 5/26/97
"Shell Fabric light weight, lining Fabric Polarguard HV, other nice
stuff"
Mark, 5/26/97
"Great sleeping bag! It's made with new Polarguard 3D insulation.
It is light , but still goes down to 20 degrees which makes it great for backpacking. The shell is made of soft, but durable polyester."
