"This jacket is made with Gore-Tex windstopper fleece, has zip-off sleeves, zippered hand warmer pockets, inside open pockets and a stow-away hood. The sleeves are difficult to impossible to remove with the jacket on, a minor inconvenience. The sleeves can be partially unzipped for extra ventilation without completely removing them. The sleeves can be stored in a large zippered pocket in the back, giving a slightly bulky feeling in the lower back. The hood is a little bulky when stowed in the collar, but is highly adjustable and fits well. The inner pockets are handy for storing a pocket knife, glove liners or chapstick while leaving the outside pockets free for the hands. The windstopper fleece isn't as warm and most typical fleece, but a wind makes fleece alone useless. The adjustable bungee cord at the waist keeps wind out and fits well. The waist did not ride up even when climbing. The jacket can be easily layered over a fleece shirt or under a water-proof jacket. The price is steep, $295, but being a climber, the jacket is perfect for cold belays, but can be converted to a vest for more freedom of movement in the arms when climbing. A backbacker may appreciate the dual utility of the jacket."
