"This is a very warm glove and a good choice for ice climbing. The
entrant nylon shell is though, water proof and somewhat
breathable. The removable liner is a thick polyester pile. The
palms of the gloves are made of a tough rubberized fabric. This
fabric and the manufacturer's seam sealing instructions are the
source of the only drawback to the gloves. In truly cold weather
the palms get stiff. If you use the recommended Seam Grip to seal
the seams, the gloves become so stiff that they are difficult to use.
Forget seam sealing and buy extra liners. That way when onse set
of liners get wet you can change to a second set. Black Diamond
also makes a more expensive Gore-tex version of the glove that
uses leather palms. These should stay flexible in cold weather."
