"I have owned this excellent pack for over two years and i was brought to the conclusion that this is the ultimit best pack on the marcket. A piece of my suspention broke about a year ago, but when i sent it back to the company, they not only fixed the problem, but they improved the pack by adding the new component that strictly pertain to the stillwater. By doins so, the problem was remediedand the risk of future faliours were eliminated. this just goes to say that warenty ans services were outstanding, especially since it was free. The only problem on this pack is that it lacks a side zypper. It should be just like on the terraplane. it was worth evry penny."

"The best all- around pack on the market ! Unbelievable craftsmanship and attention to detail. Made in Mexico but just as good as the old U.S. ones. Dana will be around for a long time with quality products like this."

"I bought my Dana Alpine about 5 years ago used from a rental program and its still going strong! It may just be the last pack I ever buy!"

"I purchased my red Alpine in Bozeman Montana in 1996. Having worked as a backpacking guide in the Absoroka Beartooth mountains I have put it to a lot of hard use. It is stood the test of time and still works as well as it did the day I bought it. An indestructable pack."

"I have been using a Dana Design Alpine for 10 or 11 years now (I forget exactly which year I bought it). It is my "do-everything" pack. The suspension is excellent, I like the top-loading bag w/ partitioned sleeping bag compartment, and the detachable lid can be used with the hipbelt as a daypack. The Shove-It pocket is the best thing about it, though. It accomodates rope, fuel canisters, tripods, and any other sort of gear that is wierd-shaped or that you might want to keep separated from your other stuff. I've used and abused this pack year-round from the Wind Rivers to the Smokies with not one equipment failure on its part. It's a well-thought-out and well-built pack."

"We've both used the Dana Arcflex Alpine since 1994, incomparable carrying system. No weight on top of the shoulders, only over the fronts of the shoulders. Until recently, we used these backpacks only in Norway and the Alps (carrying tent, etc), now we're hiking from south to north over Germany in the heat, 11 days each summer until we reach the Baltic (from beneath the Zugspitze in Austria). My only worry would be: was the quality reduced when Dana was bought by the bigger company? We have a bibler tent with lifetime guarantee. When Black Diamond bought bibler, that guarantee became worthless. Fortunately, while the bibler leaked, we've had no problem with our Dana backpacks, even after 12 years of heavy use. Excellent quality, no complaints."
