"Preliminary report: After using many varietied of snowshoes over the years including some custom made ones with slop-free bindings, I would say t hat the MSR's are the best "ready made" shoes I've tried. The binding s look like they'd have "wet noodle" problems (feet working forward on downhills) but there's no problem. There is some lateral heel drift (heels work inward a bit on rough or steep terrain), but they're still wel l above average in this respect. I'm working on a minor mod to correct. Th e shoes are really outstanding for traction and maneuverability, especially
