"Gotta' agree with Yukon Jack about all the straps and adjustments on this pack. Once they're set, you can forget them....this version has solved the water bottle storage problem. It has dual pockets essentially located at your hips - just a little inconvenient to reach but the inconvenience is overlooked when considering that your water is accessable without removing your pack. It's got all the bells and whistles except the top cover doesn't convert into a fanny pack (rats), and it could use the addition of an external pocket or two. (I've added two exterior pocket to mine). All in all this pack rides as nice as many more expensive models - it has lasted several tough years on my back and seems almost bullet proof!"

"I've had my old model for 12 years now. I see that it really hasn't changed at all. I love it. Set the straps, mainstays, and your set. Tough material that's held up over the years. This pack fits me so well, I dread the day I must replace it...should that day come I will buy another Montain Smith brand."
