"A real load-carrier. The Massif clocks in at 6400+ cubic inches, enough to temp you to bring everything -- the kitchen sink -- and your mother-in-law...
...Okay, not the mother-in-law -- but still a lot of stuff.
So therein lies the problem. The temptation is there to load up, and it will carry everything very comfortably -- if your legs hold out.
I've taken this pack on several deep-wilderness excursions. The Gregory suspension system is the finest and most comfortable made. I've yet to find a hotspot or complaint from any part of my body that the pack comes in contact with. Granted, in hot weather, it's HOT -- but that applies to just about any internal frame pack. If I had a wish, it would be that the pack had a front entry panel.
I'm buying the Gregory Palisades now. It's capacity is smaller at 5100 cubic inches. I can't stand the mother-in-law nagging me on backpacking trips."
