Shelter Information
User Comments
David, 12/13/05 "Nice location for camping, but the shelter itself could use some upgrades and repairs (make it a little bigger!). Resident bear made for an interesting night when I passed through in April of '03."
Michiblue, 07/03/07 "I stayed overnight at this brand new shelter. It's just up the hill from Stover Creek, a very abundant water source even after very little recent rainfall. Two roomy levels, a covered area with picnic table in front, 3-4 tent spots, bear cables, and a experimental moldering privy (the floor mat in the privy apparently keeps count of the number of users while it's part of a long term study testing its effectiveness). Lots of pegs and railing to hang things. Already has at least one resident mouse."
Kerosene, 04/27/04 "Stopped here for lunch. Even on a sunny April day the shelter was pretty dark. Water available from the stream in the back. No privy."
Mike, 04/21/04 "The shelter was a bit tight so I camped in the clearing by the creek. Marvellous spot about a minute off the trail."
j.boswell, 02/25/07 "i heard they built a new one. i always thought the old one was a beautiful epitome of what a solo nobo hike could be like. cant wait to hit stover creek again."
