"Stayed here one wicked cold January night. Had it all to ourselves. Sunrise was absolutely fantastic. The mice were very happy to see us, too..."

"Stayed here on a lovely early April evening (with absolutely no wind). There were 10 tents squeezed onto the ridge and 12 others in the shelter, but 8 of them left to go down into Helen for the night. The register notes that there are a lot of mice here, and we saw them scampering about as dusk fell, but they never bothered us. I've heard that the wind can blow here, and I did feel air coming up through the slatted floor every so often. No privy. The water source is just to the south and runs slowly."

"This shelter is vastly improved. GATC has added an addition to the front to help keep out blowing rain, and built some bench seating. Water source is small but reliblable. The easterly orientation of the shelter gives hikers beautiful sunrises."
