Kerosene, 10/06/03 "Stayed here in October 2001. Great hostel accommodations downstairs with bunkbeds and washer/dryer. Usually you can cook upstairs, but there was a corporate retreat there that evening. The Bears Den rock formation is a short distance from the house."
Scribe, 10/04/05 "A wonderful woman with the trail name Queen Diva now runs this place and she is super. Pray that you're there on a night when she's cooked for the hikers. Even so, the accommodations are great (good bunks, showers and washer and dryer) and there's a shop where you can get candy bars, Gatorade, etc., at non-ripoff prices. I recommend this place highly."
Linda, 08/15/05 "Loved Bears Den. Cost was 11.00 per adult, 6.00 under 12 - no family discount. Laundry extra. Very well maintained. Outstanding hosts. Great stop."

Dogpaw, 05/01/06 "Got to sleep in a mansion instead of a shelter. With Ben and Jerry's as an added bonus. Highly recommend this as a break in the rollercoaster section."
Josh, 03/11/04 "hey backpackers!!! I stayed at the bears den hostel and had a great time, the shower was very refreshing and the washer/dryer was a blessing to use!!! thank you!!! I also stopped at the shelter about 10 miles south of there and it was well maintained and was very comfortable and was a blessing to not have to sleep in a tent for another night!!!"
