Recommended Activities
The park offers activities for everyone.
Self-guiding trails are located in the North District.
Beach access to the ocean exists at both the North District, Apollo Beach, near New Smyrna
and the South District, Playalinda Beach,
near Titusville. Lifeguards are on duty Memorial Day through Labor Day. Accessible beach crossovers are found at Parking Area #8 and Eddy Creek in the South District and Parking Area #1A and #5 in the North District.
For the more rugged individual, backcountry camping is offered in the North District, both island and beach camping are available.
Turtle Watches are available June and July. Park visitors can join a ranger and watch a loggerhead sea turtle nest on the beach. Reservations are taken in May for June programs and June for July Programs. Call 321-867-4077 or 904-428-3384 ext. 18 for Information about the programs.
Fishing piers are located at Parking Areas at #7
and # 8 in the North District. In the South District, there is a fishing pier at Eddy Creek Parking Area.
Boat docks to Mosquito Lagoon are located north of the Information Center. Boat ramps to the lagoon are located at Parking Area #5 in the North District and at Eddy Creek.
Bird watching is a popular activity in both districts.
Horseback riding is permitted from November 1
through April 30. A Special Use permit is necessary.
