"OK, for $30 (at Target stores) this isn't a tent that you would use for anything like mountaineering. However, at that price it's still a pretty decent overall shelter for two kids or one tall (6'+) adult. I use it for 3-season solo backpacking and it suits my needs just fine.
The quality of construction (seams, zippers, fabric, etc.) is suprisingly good for a tent in this price range. At around 4 1/2 pounds -including everything- it's not that heavy. The 2 fiberglass shock-corded poles are sturdy and not heavy for their diameter. It pitches easily, is freestanding and stays up in pretty strong winds when staked down.
I've used it for early spring snow camping in the Sierra Nevada (along with a warm mummy bag) and also in light rain in the Pacific Northwest.
The rain wasn't a problem since I used seam sealer (not included) on all the body and rainfly seams and the coated floor is bathtub-style (it rises about 6" from ground level).
An additional benefit is that this tent is unlikely to be tempting to thieves so if it's stolen while away from camp, dayhiking or whatever, you're not out 100+ dollars.
All in all, a good basic tent for people on a budget who don't need a top-of-the-line shelter for demanding conditions."
