"I used this stove briefly, but moved on to the Trangia and the Vargo Triad. like all alcohol stoves, the hike-and-light stove will heat well, and can work fine IF you use a windscreen. (if you refuse to carry a windscreen, just get a gas stove and carry a lot of fuel). i tried this stove in the back yard, and thought the size was a bit large, and the alcohol usage a bit much, for a 2-man hike given modest needs and relatively narrow cookware. it may be an option if you are cooking for a larger group, use larger cookware, and/or will carry more fuel."

"Worked wonderfully well for me on a month-long end-to-end hike of the Long Trail in Vermont. Cooked (i.e., boiled water for my dried foods) twice a day every day. No moving parts, etc. as in all alcohol stoves. Easy to light. Just keep an eye on the pot stand clips when you pack it up. Excellent for what it is (though if you want the thrill of making your own stove, those will work just as well)."

"The stove is a waste of money. being a stupid american I fell for the great advertisements, not using my head and just making one for myself. I bought the MSR pocket Rocket and love it. I use the Hike N' light for fishing lures now. Don't waste the money"

"Works fine if you just use a windscreen. It wouldn't work without one. [it's not rocket science, just physics]

"This stove sucks! don't make the same mistake I did and waste the money. If you want an alcohol stove save the money and build it out on tuna fish cans. If light weight is what a person is looking for, I suggest the MSR pocket rocket. great stove."

"If all you want to do is boil water and go ultra light this is a nice little stove but not so sturdy. If I were to do it again I might save the money for something with more kick. "

"WOW! this is by far the lightest 2oz (yes, 2 ounces) easiest to light, and hottest Alcohol stove I have ever seen, or used. NO moving parts to clean, NO pressure valves or hoses to lose, and it fits insided of my mess kit! I used 8oz of alcohol on a 4 day trip for 3 people! Burns clean - no soot. And it only cost $15. You will need to make a foil windscreen or get a windscreen from another stove (I used an msr foil screen folded down)."
