"I run with the warmest feature bag (within reason) regardless of the expected weather. Above 9k feet it gets cold at night and bad weather moves in fast at altitude.
I finally replaced my SD bag I bought when I was a kid from SD headquarters on Addison Street in Berkely California.... 1973 or so. I've come to respect SD for there quality and design features. At one time SD made backpacks. Which I also own, but retired that item two seasons ago for a Kelty.
I'm very pleased with the FLASH (0 F) bag. Buy the extra long if your + 6'. You'll be amazed as I when you pack this bag down and realize really how light it is for it size and what it packs in true sleeping warmth.
Half zipper and zipper cooling opening in foot comes in handy. Be careful when buying via a web site. Measure yourself! Give yourself a couple inches (3-4) to your shoulder girth. Todays hi-tech bags are cut tight. The jacket hood feature worked out nice. Zippers and baffeling are top-notch. You won't go wrong with this company's product line. Best bags made for the money.
CONS: a little snug in in the shoulder girth. I'm a normal sized guy at 6' 1", 200 lbs. Should have measured twice and bought once. My own fault. I may sell, but I'd buy another SD bag, no doubt!"
