"I purchased the Lost Ranger in my quest to find a bag that I can move in and have room. While this was more bag than I wanted to pay for, I really love this bag.
The bag is 650 fill goose down bag and keeps you warm with a temp rating of 15 degrees. Used together with the Big Agnes insulated sleeping pad that you can purchase for either 15 or 35 degrees, it is an unbeatable combination. The underside of the bag has a sleeve for the pad to fit into so you never roll off the pad. The reason that no insulation is used on the bottom of the bag is that when compressed it looses most of the insulating value.
The Lost Ranger also packs down to a very small size.
I can not say enough. Buy it!"
"The "Big Agnes Sleep System" intrigued me so I got a hold of this bag and the Big Agnes Insulated pad. The pad slides into a sleeve build into the sleeping bag so that you never slide off.
I have used the bag on several cool-weather trips and have been very impressed. What I like most about the Lost Ranger is the amount of room that it provides for movement duirng the night. Because there is no insulation on the bottom of the bag (the pad serves as insulation) it is extremely light for it's size and temperature rating. A very comfortable bag.
The only problem I would mention is that the feet get a bit colder than the rest of the bag - but this might just be me."
"I purchased a Lost Ranger for similar reasons as other, to find a bag I had a little room to move in. I found the Lost Ranger too cold, far from the 15° rating even with 2 sleep pads. I returned the bag as a result. In additon, the zipper constantly snagged the bag itself. Pack size was fantastic, however."
