"These boots must be a best seller. They're quite pricy, with a price tag of A$299, but i think they're worth every bit. Obviopusly they had a reasonably long break in period, but that's because they're so thick and durable. They provide great ankle support along with a vibram sole to minimise foot fatigue. Overall, I love these boots, and they are SO comfortable no it's not funny. 10/10. Good work, Scarpa."

"I bought these boots 2 months ago to replace a pair of 3 year old boots that were misplaced.
I am very pleased with the workmanship and overall quality of the SL. The stability and overall support is superb. I use them mainly in the rocky hiking trails in the mountains around Phoenix. Scarpa has done a wonderful job with this model and I would not hesitate to recommend to any off trail hiker or backpacker."

"I have been packing for 40 years. From muck bogs, up granite chimneys, ankle busting rocky, tree rooted nasty descents and wicked ascents, across most of the lower 48 states. The Scarpa SL M3's are without question the best boots I have ever worn. They will protect you from almost every hazard nature deals you to those you create yourself. Rugged, long wearing, great sole, great protection from whatever the ground points into your soles, to uppers that are as waterproof as any heat keeping GTX, SYMPATEX, or new XX, that the mad scientists dream up: nothing beats the one piece HS12 treatment of the 3mm high quality leather. These boots will simply not let you break your ankle, they will last beyond your physical and mental endurance to try and kill your knees, ankles, hips and teeth. Get the right size and you will be a happy footed trekker, regardless of how much you carry, what you climb or how botched your feet maybe. Other than all of the foregoing, their okay. I just hope SCARPA makes them forever or until I croak on a trail, whichever comes first."

"The Scarpa SL M3 boots are the finest things that I have ever put on my feet. Unsurpassed quality and durability, I have no complaints. I only hope they still make them in 10 years when these wear out."

"I did 38 miles of break in on the local trails.I wore them up the White Mts. on the Northern peaks. And sections of the ADK.
These boots keep me hiking happy with a heavy pack!"

"I love the Scarpa SL boots. The cushioned, cambrelle lined insides are really comfortable. I have feet like a duck, and the extra width option for the SL is a luxury.
I am on my second pair now. The first pair could have lasted a lifetime, but I put them through extreme abuse during explorations in the mountains of South America. I found the SL supportive and comfortable while backpacking 70-80 pounds over rocky terrain or deep mud. Whenever a boot would grind its way down beween abrasive rocks, with all this extra weight, I was thankful that I hadn't opted for a cordura/gortex boot. The thick leather and treble stitching of the SL took continual abuse over three months, but always kept my feet safe and dry. Gaiters were worn for much of this time. To summarize: a great pair of boots!"

"The boot to beat for an all-leather enthusiast. Great workmanship, tough-as-nails leather, and so comfortable. Takes a while to break them in (walking in a stream helps). I suggest treating these with wax or mink oil frequently, as often as after every outing, as the treatment helps preserve and soften the leather. I wear them with Superfeet inserts because of my narrow heel."
