"At just over 1kg these were the lightest boots I have ever had.
Straight out of the box confort was excellent and even after a
snowy trek up Ben Lomond(Sco tland) I had no problems at all.
The amazing thing was the comfort. My leg s still felt as if they
could do another 16 miles. The EVA mid sole absorbed all the
shock and took some of the strain of my worn out knees, whilst
the s pecial Brasher sole certainly gave the grip promised in the
company's litera ture. The outsole is designed to minimise
environmental damage whilst providi ng good grip and whislt this
softer compound may wear quicker than heavier Vib ram units it
can easily be replaced. The Gore-tex Top-Dry lining is laminated
to a very fine leather and performed superbly without the hot
sweaty feeling normaly associated with fabric lined boots.
Lightweight boots will probably n ot last as long but the comfort
and performance will now keep me a Brasher cus tomer as long as
I am walking. What a shame I had to go to Scotland to buy th em!"

"Indeed these are fine boots, mine have done many miles in summer and winter and are on the second pair of soles. Only downside, the 'Goretex' liner has started to wear through, and constant flexing has caused the leather around the front of the foot to start cracking, this may just be me as although I followed manufacturers instructions, my build means I am very heavy on boot wear. They have been superbly comfortable, and have lasted about as long as any other boots I have had."

"I was bought these boots as a birthday present 13 years ago. I was allowed to have any boots I wanted in the shop, but once I had tried on the Brashers, nothing touched them for lightness or comfort, so Brashers it was.

I am not very kind to my boots, but I did sporadically clean them and treat them with the special Brasher cream... mind you, I as often left them muddy in the boot of my car until next time I wore them.

I have worn these several times a week, mostly for walking in the Chilterns (chalk and mud) but also for the occasional foray into North Wales, Dartmoor or Northumberland. The soles have worn but they still have plenty of life in them. A seam round the back has come partly un-stitched, but that could be repaired, but the leather has finally cracked and split over the top of the foot (although they still seem to be waterproof), so I need a new pair. What am I going to buy next time? Brasher Hillmaster's of course!"
