"for a daypack or a light load minimalist weekender (1900 cu. in.) the eclipse 32 is the pack for you. the pack is compact with a simple design. don't let the name daypack fool you. osprey didn't skimp on quality on this one. the only pitfall is the pack is a bit pricey. i bought mine for around $120.
but for the cash here's some nice features on the pack are:
vertical zipper access for ease of digging out goodies at the bottom of your pack
the straight jacket system is nice for strapping your tent and thermorests to the outside of the pack and it stops your gear from shifting around
the suspension system and waist belt are top notch for any pack, especially for a daypack.
all in all the eclipse 32 fits like a glove letting me run foot loose and fancy free through beautiful east tennessee."
"Consistent with Osprey's fantastic larger packs, the Eclipse 32 is so comfortable that it's sometimes easy to forget it's even there (why do other manufacturers insist upon lumpy and comlicated 'ergonomic' back systems when Osprey's simple, flat design seems almost always to provide the greatest comfort for the greatest number of users?). That's not to say that build quality has been sacrificed - indeed, for such a small pack, the quality of materials and stitching, zips and clips, is quite outstanding. And features such as the vertical zip, the incorporated (and removable) water bladder, and the front net pocket, itself neatly held in by the excellent 'straight jacket' system, contibute to make this the best daypack I've ever used. All with a lifetime gurarantee. Wicked."
"This is the best pack I have ever owned. It's perfect for 2-3 day backpacking trips in three seasons, and has the capacity for longer trips if you're willing to strap a pad and tarp/tent. I took it for an entire month while traveling in Central Asia, and I was never disappointed. It's comfortable, functional, and indestructible."
