"Canada's Mountain Equipment Co-op sells some excellent
outdoor products at great prices, due largely to the fact it is a
non-profit cooperative. The MEC Condor backpack is quite large
(82 L, about 5100 cu. in.) and only cost me $160 Cdn (about
$100 Am.). It has a large outside pouch for carrying camera, bug
spray, etc. as well as a large zippered pocket on top. I went on a
5-day hike in the Canadian Rockies carrying 40 pounds in this
pack, and keep in mind I weigh only 150 to start with! This hike
was very difficult too, hitting a different pass on each day and
sleeping in the valleys, a "roller-coaster". It was a bit heavy on the
shoulders the first day, but once I fixed the adjustable suspension
to fit me better, the weight was on my hips and I felt great. I highly
recommend this pack."
