"The Longtrail II is very comfortable to wear. I've used it under extreme conditions and it stood up to the test. The only downsides are the absence of a seperate sleeping bag compartment and I find the outside mesh water bottle holders are a bit too tight. Otherwise...great pack !!"

"I have the new Long Trail 2, which includes a separate zippered sleeping bag compartment. The bag is huge. It holds all my gear and then some. In this bag, I can fit a tent, sleeping bag, air mattress, clothes, 2 weeks of food, and lots of other gear. I've used this bag both on the trail and in the city. This bag traveled with me by greyhound bus from Pennsylvania to Texas, then home by plane. It has several hiking miles on it as well. The only problem I have with it is its sheer bulk. I'm 6 feet tall and 240 pounds and it makes me feel small. I use this pack when I want to be comfortable on a weekend trip, because I can fit the air mattress and good food and whatnot, and I use it for traveling. Anyone who tries to use this pack for thruhiking might find it to be alittle to much to handle. It's like trying to parallel park a Chevy Suburban, sometimes less is more. The performance of the materials has been excellent. I've dropped it many times on rocks, sticks, bus terminal floors, and it maintains it's structual integrity. The final word- it's a really big high quality pack."
