There are several loop options of varying length & elevation that can keep you coming back to this small wilderness. I just finished a 10-mile hike on a crisp November day. The lower areas are rated for all year hiking and stay mostly in the trees or near Trapper Creek & its tribuataries. A longer hike (14.5 mi) will take you to Observation Peak with views from Mt. Rainier to the north to Mt. Jefferson to the south. This loop is best done as an overnight trip. There is still some oldgrowth to be seen in this old forest and some of the connector trails between loops have real character. All in all an enjoyable place with lots of hiking options.
