This is such a peacefull, enjoyable hike, it's hard to believe it's so close to a paved road. In fact, it's such a nice little hike you won't mind that the return trip is along the same trail (3.5 miles up, 3.5 back). There are 3 magnificent waterfalls along this stretch of the Lewis River. The trail begins at Lower Falls (my favorite), passes Middle Falls midway, and ends at Upper Falls. The water is cold & clear, and the forest is quiet & damp here even on the warmest summer days. Rating: easy Elevation gain: 500 ft Open: all year
