The Healdville Trail is the main hiking trail to the top of Okemo Mountain. It ascends from the west. The ski area is on the east. The Healdville Trail (2.9 miles) is very easy on the knees, unlike most well-used Vermont trails, which can be quite rocky. From about 0.6 - 1.5 miles it ascends steeply via a series of switchbacks, then levels off for about a mile (with a fabulous lookout about 1/2 mile below the summit). For the best views, either climb the fire tower above treeline, or follow the path exiting the fire tower to the east, which brings you to a 180 degree vista at the top of a ski trail.
