From the Millcreek Canyon main road, enter the Church Fork picnic area on the north, and follow the paved road about 1/4 mile. When the paved road ends you will find a well-maintained trail with a map and notices which you should read and obey. A couple hundred yards from the end of the pavement the Church Fork trail crosses the Pipeline trail. Follow the trail, which continues north along the stream. If your not in pretty good shape you'll already be puffing a bit. The trail will soon reach some switchbacks that help level out the trail slightly as you climb to a saddle with a great view of Parleys Canyon to the northeast, and part of the Salt Lake valley to the northwest. From the saddle, the summit is only a 1/2 mile and 700 feet further up the trail. After your reach the peak and have enjoyed the fabulous veiw the the Salt Lake Valley you can rest in a small clearing shaded by some trees. It makes a nice spot to have lunch. Plan about 2 1/4 hours to get to the peak which is 8,299 feet, and 2 hours to get back down. Skill Level: This is an easy hike, but will keep you lungs working. Less conditioned hikers may need to take more breaks, but most can handle this rewarding hike. Seasons: Year Round. Water: 2 liters per person. Equipment: In winter take Ski poles & Gaiters The trail is clear and easy to follow.
