A 16-mile 2-day trek in the Virgin River as it narrowly traverses (20-50 ft) through steep, colorfully-carved 1000-2000 ft sandstone walls. Considered by many as the most spectacular slot canyon hike in the Southwest. NOTES: 1. Check the weather carefully. Flashfloods due to summer afternoon thunderstorms have claimed lives here before. 2. Bring trekking poles, the rocks can be very slippery especially when the creeks converge on day 2. 3. Bring aspirin, looking up at steep cliffs often could give you vertigo. 4. Wear closed-toe shoes; the rocks could damage your toes. 5. Bring a filter-bottle; there is plenty of water, but its safety is questionable. 6. Waterproof everything. Hypothermia is a real threat, and there are chest-deep pools along the trail.
