This hike can be narrow, steep, and rocky in places, but should be no challenge at all to those who are ready for this type of hike. It starts at the Clingman's Dome parking lodge, and follows the ridge down the Forney Ridge Trail. 1.1 miles later, the Forney Creek Trail continues to the right. After a couple river crossings, and the train tracks and rails scattered across the mountian, two miles later, you come to campsite 68, where we stayed. This trail continues on for another 5.4 miles to campsite 71. There aren't many outstanding views after the parking lot, but this trail has some great scenery around the waterfalls and the creek. A strenuous hike after a while, but rewarding for backpackers; there are plenty of campsites down the enitre length of this trail.
