Description
The trail can be entered from several points. The most common is probably at the Cades Cove parking area. The trail has a steep, rocky ascent on the east side of the loop but is much less rocky on the west side. This trail offers some great views of Cades Cove below. There is an old fire tower on top of Rich Mtn. Some maps show a shelter, but it is now a campsite. Be warned that this also doubles as a horse trail.

Directions to Hike
Get to the Smokies and go to Cades Cove. Just follow the signs.
