Description
I have always wanted to climb to the top of Mt Lecont, but never anyone to accomany me. Not a place to go alone.
I had a great time, the first trek was not so bad. The first couple miles was someone easy, then got harder. Fantastic views on the way up. It is hardvto believe how the trail was carved out of some of the mountain. After the Bluff, the trail got Very Hard, Steep, it is not a Sunday afternoon walk, like Rainbow Falls. A person must be in decent shape to accend to the top of MtLecont. The overnighter will be my next adventure up to the top.
My friend and I made our way to Myrtle Point after a rest and lunch at Lecont Lodge. Spotted a black bear 8/10 of a mile from Lodge. I think the bear was more afraid of us, then us of it. I wasn\'t anyhow. My friend however was deeply concerned about our blck furry friend.
I will do it again and many other trails, like chimney top and others

Good luck to other hikers, we had fun and took a lot of pictures

Directions to Hike
Through Gatlinburg, past the Park Office on 441. About 15 minutes or 7 - 8 miles to the Alum Cave parking lot. Just following the signs on the trail to the top
