Hike covers 2 parks the National park side is well kept but state park side is virtually unkept. Trails almost disappear at times where vegitation over grows the trail and large trees have fallen across trail. Hike would have been more enjoyable if I hadn't had to dodge so much poison oak and horse apples left by horsemen who could not read the numerous signs proclaiming no horses allowed on trails. The State park is an easy hike dispite the obsticles the more strenuous part is on the National park side. I started south and found that I should have started north. All depends if you want the easy part first or last.
