One of the hardest but most gratifying hikes. The trail starts at Jones Gap State Park and heads straight up for 2 miles and roughly 2000 feet through streams, boulder fields and beautiful trees, mtn laurels, blueberries, etc. The garden of Eden. At a mile you reach Hospital Rock which is a huge rock with a cave about the size of a three car garage - supposedly a place for Confederate deserts to hide - we know better that that. Then another mile through a maze of hardwoods and switchbacks (17?) to Cleveland Connector. Go left(west) towards Camp Greenville on 2.2 mile of flat jeep road that runs the crest of Cleveland Cliffs. Turn left on the paved road through the large stone and steel gate for 1/4 mile to Symmes Chapel. It is a covered outdoor chapel that hangs some 2000 feet over Cleveland Cliffs. You can't get much closer to Heaven than here. Backtrack to Jones gap
