The OLP is an excellent weekend loop hike featuring many vistas, small waterfalls, cascades, scenic mountain streams, and Masten, an abandoned lumber town. Trail has plently of water, campsites, and often follows old forest roads and grades. Moderate in difficulty, climbs range from 200-800 feet. Trailhead is in Masten. Highlights are: Rock Run with its cascades, waterfalls, deep pools and small chasm, vista of Rock Run gorge, massive house sized boulders at Buck Run, 4 vistas from exposed ledges on Sullivan Mtn, and Sharp Top Vista which overlooks a forested valley. OLP explores the high plateau of PA, with many streams and wetlands. Great place to see wildlife. Trail is blazed orange. McIntyre Wild Area is a worthwhile side trip.
