We hiked from the Tracy Ridge campground to the mouth of Tracy Run, steep decent but excellent campsites. From there took the North Country Trail south to Handsome Lake campground, very pleasant hike and had the campground to ourselves. (Campground looks like it could get heavy use in the summer from boaters) Day hiked the south loop that includes Polly's Run. This was more strenuous terrain as the trail seems less used and much of the time our feet were at a slant. We were very happy to hike back along the old road bed, steep grade but better footing. Trail harder to follow here, markers disappeared along the road grade, otherwise we found the trails well marked. Hiked back to Tracy Ridge Campground along Johnnycake run and found the ascent gradual and the creek lovely. Trail muddy in spots as it had rained quite a bit before we got there, but on the first weekend of May we had the whole place to ourselves, and enjoyed this very much.
