Oil Creek State Park
This hike is a very challenging 36 mile loop trail that goes along both sides of the picturesque oil creek. There are several connecting trails to shorten the length of your hike . The terrain is steep but offers breathtaking vistas. There are two adirondak shelter areas for overnight stays. Water is availible at the shelter areas untill September 15. There is a nominal fee for using the shelters. The area is rich in history of the Pennsylvania oil boom days. There is still some evidence of the ghost towns that were once there. There is also a museum nearby at the site of the world's first oil well.
