Description
The West Rim Trail runs parallel with the Pine Creek Gorge. It has varying relief, but nothing extreme. Water is abundant and campsites abound. The flora varies from coniferous to diciduous forest. Vistas of the Pine Creek Gorge are fantastic.

Directions to Hike
Trail head access from the north is from Route 6 at Ansonia make the turn toward Colton Point S.P. after about .5 mile look for parking area on left by rest facility.
If starting from the south. Head south on Rt.414 out of Blackwell. Approximately .5 there is a parking lot with restroom facility on the left. There is a sign for the West Rim Trail across the road.
