From the car to Rolling Riffle camp this is nice easy walk through what appears to be "Old Growth" along the Salmon River. With the exception of a few blow downs the trail is pretty simple and beautiful. From Rolling Riffle the trail heads up toward a lookout that, once you reach it, will be well worth the effort. A beautiful view of the Salmon River canyon from several hundred feet above the river. About a quarter mile past the view point the trail starts to level off and even loose elevation only to gain it back, as you go in and out of small side canyons, some with creeks and an occasional water fall if your lucky, depending on the time of year. Goat Creek is a nice place to spend the night, with 3 designated camp sites the creeks is a nice place to relax. If you are tempted to go any futher, less than a mile up the trail is Kinzel Creek, but there is no place to camp here and the creek is pretty tricky to cross at least in the spring.
