This is a great hike thru the Adirondacks. The hike starts in the southern end and winds it way to the High Peaks area. You cross water each day. The wild life and views are breath taking. Loons are on more than half the lakes and at Cedar Lake always loud. The West Canada Lake region is one of the most remote spots in the Adirondacks. The trail does go up and down some. The highest elevation of 3000 feet is near Blue MTN home of the Adirondack Museum( a great side trip). Re-suppling can be a little hard if you don't know anyone in the area. We walked the trail in 2004 and saw only 10 other people.
