This is a fun day hike to the top of Mt. Tammany overlooking the Delaware River. The trail is marked with red blazes, which I lost in a couple of spots. It wasn't hard to find my way back, because the trail is steep and I just kept going up and regained the trail. The views are beautiful, but one is within constant earshot of I-80, even at the top (about 1500 feet elevation). On the way down, I took an alternate trail marked with blue blazes. This trail is longer and less steep. The views aren't as good, but you lose the I-80 noise. I saw a band (gaggle? flock?) of 8 to 10 wild turkeys on the blue trail, which intersects with the AT close to the bottom. According to the National Park Service website, park rangers lead hikes to the top on weekends. I encountered several other hikers (more on the red trail), but it wasn't too crowded by any means.
