Description
We decided to try going with a guide on this four day trip in late June since there are so many trails to choose from in GlacierNP. This is a good choice for a trek since the scenery is spectacular in this area of the park (not that other Glacier NP trails are hum-drum). We stayed at sites near the Ranger Station (smelliest pit toilet), Elizabeth lake (very cold water), and Cosley lake (warm enough for a dip) so the longest section of the hike was only 8 miles - not counting day hikes farther down the trail. No bears were sighted on our trip but bugs were bad sometimes - bring a headnet. There were several other groups following a similar loop so we had some good company, especially at the communal food preparation sites.

Directions to Hike
The Belly River Trailhead is at the northeast corner of the Glacier National Park about 100 meters on the US side of the Canadian border on MT17.
