Description
The Whispering Pine trail is located within Hawn State Park. It is a truly enjoyable hike through some of the most scenic areas of the St. Francis Mountains in the upper southeast region of the Ozarks. The trail is well maintained and fairly popular. There are three backcountry camp sites and they are all near excellent sources of water. Some of the characteristics of the trail include pine and oak groves, rock glades, shut-ins, karst topography and numerous beaver dams. There are two loops totaling 10 miles and it should take approximately 7 hours to complete. This is definetly one of the finest trails in Missouri.

Directions to Hike
One and half hours from St. Louis, MO. South on Interstate 55 to Exit 150(Ste, Genevieve)West on highway 32 then South on 144.
