The Woodland trail is a nice overnight trip. It is classic mid missouri rolling hills, woods and streams. We did this hike in late April. The weather was unseasoneably cool with a daytime high of 55 and a low of 28. The trail was well marked, fairly level, and boasted lots of spring flowers and lovely dogwood trees. The trailhead is behind the trail center about a mile into the park on the main entrance road. A very nice backpack camping site is about 4.5 miles from the trailhead. Recommended seasons would be fall, winter, and early spring. In late spring and summer this trail is tick infested. It wasn't too bad in April but we did pick some off of us and had them crawling on our tent. there are also some other trails in this park that look good.
