The Manistee River Trail started at our campgroung, Seaton Creek Campground. A rustic campgroung with 17 sites. Beautiful large secluded sites, a pump well and pit toilets. We arrived on Monday and left Friday with only one other camper in the park $12/night. Quiet. We hiked the Manistee river trail which begins in the campground, just 50 ft from our campsite. The Manistee river trail is beautiful. Vista overlooks along the river, several small waterfalls, fern valleys in majestic pines. Shady all the way. Winding trails, enough hills to keep it interesting. Wildlife all along the way. There are many established campsites all along the trail that are placed in just the right spot, all with a fire pit. enough woods to gleen wood for an evening fire. The trail goes for 10 miles to Red Bridge Campground. There you can spend the night and in the morning cam pick-up the North Country Trail which will follow the other side of the river and will return back to the Manistee River Trail, back to the beginning near the Seaton Creek Campground. A 20 mile loop can become a rugged 2 day trail beater, or as long as 4 relaxing days of hiking. This trail has it all and will not disappoint. Enjoy
